How Does the Family Influence the Process of Transition to Adulthood? A Comparative Study of Young People with and without Family Ties in Spain

The transition to adulthood is a process that brings childhood an end and turns the individual into young adult. This characterised by acquisition of new roles for people, linked development personal autonomy culminate in their emotional functional independence. aim this study was ascertain how people with family ties youths without support perceive understand emancipation process. also sought identify extent which provides during research design qualitative used focus group technique data collection. total sample consisted 12 participants (seven males five females) average age 18. Five them were minors custody State, seven adults regular environment. information collected analysed using Atlas.ti software. results highlighted existence difficulties barriers among (with ties) related psychological problems, choosing training, finding job and, short, emancipation. However, healthy social stability had more effective independent compared ties.
